Christian cliches abound, often without scriptural substance. (“God won’t give you more than you can handle” comes to mind). Is this one true? Does God really have a plan for your life?

A violin's purpose is to make beautiful music. Have you been designed for a purpose?

Short answer-YES, it's true! Although it has become something of a Christian cliche, God DOES have a plan for your life. I call it your Kingdom Assignment.

  • It’s not what you may be thinking (to prosper you.)

  • It will always be in line with God’s agenda.

  • It is not generic, but specific to you!

  • You can know your assignment and build your day-planner around it. And - ta da! - reduce overwhelm in your life!

Please, DON’T use Jeremiah 29:11 to define your assignment.

“'For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper

you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Nope. This word was spoken to the Jewish exiles, not to you.

Do I believe God wants to give you a hope and a future? Absolutely, yes! But that’s not what this verse is talking about.

5 Bible Verses about God’s plan/Your mission

1. 2 Corinthians 5:20—“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.”

You’re a genuine ambassador. With a mission to represent a genuine Kingdom.

2. Ephesians 2:10—“We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do

good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

These good works are your mission. God planned them.

3. Ephesians 4:7—“But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.”

You have been given a mission specific to you.

4. John 20:21—[Jesus said] “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

Jesus was sent on a mission. Likewise you are sent to continue Jesus’ mission.

5. Matthew 15:23—“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things…”

You will be recognized for having accomplished your mission.

Ponder the significance of being called into action as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of Light!

You do indeed have a Kingdom assignment, and it’s not to live comfy.

Your Kingdom assignment is a participation in what God is doing in the world.
