It’s true, you are an actual masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us so.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
As God’s Kingdom Masterpiece, you are a one-of-a-kind creation. Not one of us Sisters is just alike. You are carefully designed, not thrown together like a last minute science project. You and your life has meaning and purpose.
There are three essential aspects of your design that you must know to find those good works that God planned for you long ago. Let’s look at:
your personality type
your spiritual gift
your passions and skills
What’s Your Personality?
If you’ve got children or if you’ve ever kept kiddos in the nursery, you know you’re dealing with different personality types. You’ll see withdrawn and shy and outgoing and boisterous. You’ll see one who wants to play quietly alone, and another who wants to boss the other kiddos around. Maturity and experience shapes and refines (or sadly sometimes distorts) the personality, but the fundamental design is present from birth. Knowing your personality type will help you figure out how you best relate to other people.
There are lots of personality assessments out there, and all of them can be helpful. The hot thing right now is the Enneagram, so if you’d like to get a quick glimpse of your Enneagram type, check out this site for a free test.
What’s Your Spiritual Gift?
How has God enabled you to carry out the good works He has planned for you? A critical part of your design in Christ is your spiritual gifting, or enablements. Don’t think of this as a present wrapped up with a pretty bow. Instead think of your gift as results of an aptitude test. What’s your Passion?
What do you love to do? At what are you skilled? What subject do you love to talk about? What lights you up?
I have always loved art, graphic design, and creative things. Your thing might be math, or computers, or baking bread, or fitness. These are the things that make you who you are, and can quite often be incorporated into your Kingdom Assignment.

You can discern something’s purpose by examining its design. The masterpiece that is a Stradivarius violin was designed to make beautiful music. The masterpiece that is you was designed to do those “good things He planned for us long ago.”
What are the good things God has prepared for you, Ms. Masterpiece?
